ABOUT:

Jen Humphreys is a woodworker based in the North East of Scotland.

Her practice blends traditional techniques with a bold, contemporary aesthetic. She is inspired by cartography and specifically the meeting point between Scotland’s urban life and it’s dense woodlands.

Graduating from Gray’s School of Art in 2014, Jen went on to work in London for a bespoke furniture makers before returning home to Scotland to pursue her passion for teaching. Now a Chartered Teacher of Craft and Design, she continues to develop her own creative practice from her dedicated workshop in the grounds of Banff Castle, Aberdeenshire as well as taking part in artistic residencies to share and further explore her passion for woodworking.
