ABOUT:

Jen Humphreys is a designer and maker from the North East of Scotland.

Her work combines traditional craftsmanship with a bold, contemporary aesthetic. Specialising in woodwork she set up her own workshop in the old Doocot building in the grounds of Banff Castle, Aberdeenshire in 2023. From here she creates unique homeware pieces, using the highest quality, sustainably sourced materials.

Graduating from Grays School of Art in 2014, Jen went on to train with the Association of Master Upholsterers. Moving to London to work as a design assistant for a high end furniture maker, she returned to Scotland and qualified as a teacher of Design and Technology. She now teaches full time at a local secondary school alongside pursuing her own creative practice.

Jen was runner up on Channel 4’s Handmade: Britain’s Best Woodworker Season 3.
